The Taleem Initiative vision is college graduation for all students. Our 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, formerly known as Mission: College Admission (MCA), aims to vastly increase the number of first-generation students who are successful in high school, college, and beyond. Our high-impact academic and mentoring programs are designed to instill in our students the confidence, knowledge, and skills needed to select, enter, and successfully graduate from a four-year college/university.
Our flagship program is a comprehensive summer academy, consisting of SAT preparation, college and financial aid application workshops, college tours, and motivational lectures from professionals. By the program’s end, the students show significant transformation: SAT scores increase 240 points on average, and 90% of the students show a commitment to attending a four-year college. This college preparation academy is now offered annually at cities in the Bay Area and in California’s Central Valley.
Taleem (pronounced TAH-LEE-MH) is a word of Punjabi and Urdu origin meaning Education and Training, which aptly captures the mission of our organization.
